We are the CHAMPIONS....AGAIN!!!

Alyssa's team took 1st place in her tournament...again. They creamed the first team they played by about 40 pts. The second team was a little more challenging though, but they won by 12 pts. And the 3rd team was a joke and they won by about 30 pts.

We are the CHAMPIONS!!!!

Alyssa's team took 1st place in her tournament. She played a total of 4 games. Her first game was against South Garland the score was 63-11. The Friday game was against Sachse, the final score was 58-18. The first Saturday game was against Mesquite Horn, the final score was 62-42. And the championship game was against Waxahachie and the final score was 56-32. As you can tell her team is totally creaming the competition this year. If you want some great stories, ask her the appropriate time to laugh at the refs, or what to do when you get hurt, or what happens when you don't listen to the coach.

The Shirt and the Mum (The rest of the Dumb Tradition)

There's a strange tradition here in Texas - the gals make the guys a garter and the guys make the gals a mum. Earlier we showed the garter Alyssa made for Kyle, well here is the Mum Kyle made for Alyssa.

They also do shirts - the front of Kyle and Alyssa's shirts say "We Ballin' on the Eastside" and the back of the shirts have their dates last name, a picture of thier sport along with their number.

Some Dumb Tradition

This is the garter Alyssa made for her Homecoming date. With the amount of bells on it, he should be heard all over campus. Texas has a tradition where the girl makes a garter for the guy and the guy makes a mum for the girl. (a mum looks just like the garter, but much, much longer. It hooks around the neck and on the shoulders. They're suppose to be full of ribbon down to the girls feet that represent them and their date.) And they cost and arm and a leg (they start at the store for $70 and go up into the hundreds.) We made our own and saved lots of money. Ha Ha Ha...
Ask anyone in Texas and they have no idea what the tradition is about, but nobody is about to break this wonderful tradition.
Watch for Homecoming pictures after October 18

Dress for Homecoming!

Okay, we've got the dress, jewelry, shoes and purse. Now the hairstyle ideas. Yes Kenna and Deonne, I have someone arranged to do the hair so Alyssa doesn't have to put up with me and only me (do you feel sorry for me yet?)!

Please send us a message with any ideas for the hair.
